Format of the 2009 Epee competition .

We will again adopt a two stage system for the Mens competition this year.
The same will also apply to the Womens now that the entry is large enough.
The final shape will depend on the numbers entered, but is likely to be:

Byes to the top 52 seeded men/ 45 women. Top 52/45 should check in before 12.30 for the Second stage

Those in the second stage will be emailed on 14th September.

Mens first stage

18 pools of 7/6. Promote 80%, DE down to 32.

Mens second stage.

52 + 32 = 84

12 equal pools of 7. If any of the byes do not turn up then the best of those knocked out will be promoted.

64 promoted from the pools as normal.

Womens stages

10 pools of 7/6, then DE down to 32, and promote with 45 byes to have 77 in the second stage. (11 pools of 7)

Plate competiton will run as normal for those knocked out in the first round.
